Hello all,
My name is Erica Wolfe and I am a first-year graduate student in Information
Systems (a joint business and computer science program) at New York
University. I have many years of non-technical work experience, but I'm
just starting out as a programmer and would love to get involved in the
open-source and Systers communities. I'm particularly looking to work on
the wishlist items as they seem best suited to my experience and a great way
to become familiar with Systers code. I'm in the process of completing a
year-long computer science intensive class to prepare me for graduate-level
courses in computer science. This intensive study has given me experience in
C and C++, and with procedural and object-oriented programming methods, the
Standard Template Library, recursion, and data structures including lists
and queues. I am currently studying assembly and will learn Python before
the class ends.
I have already set up a VM for development for the Systers' code and
completed most of the Google Summer of Code Systers application. I'd like
some guidance in forming my project proposal, particularly the project
milestones. Any help would be appreciated!
Regards,
Erica
