Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I was back to attempting bug squashing
and reading code. :)
@Anna and Kanika
Ah! I had initially not realized that the migrate script was not a
complete port. I did not want to delete the older list because I had
generated a lot of archive in it for testing purposes later on.
Unfortunately, I did it before moving to Syster's version of Mailman.
So that is when I was looking for a way to making it work with the new
setup. I also thought that other mailman administrators might not be
wanting to delete active mailing lists while wanting the Syster's
features. The lack of a complete migrate tool might be stopping them.
I can't say that with weightage as I haven't researched on it yet
though! For now I shall create more archives with a list created
through the new setup.
@Robin
So far the only reason that I was doing it via the command line, is
because it is convenient and faster. The other use cases you
mentioned also seem quite possible. Not having to delete older active
mail lists would be good.

I shall do that! I will ask folks in the community on how would they
like this and sum up their comments on the bug page (just have to find
out where to ask). :)
@ All
Thanks for the clarifications on this! I understand this better now. I
believe this can be a project in itself but a wish list one. I would
like to stick to the archival and search project for now though as
that seems to be of higher priority (and so far researching it, on
that direction).
I will add the migrate step to the wiki.
Thanks and Regards
