Talking about that, i would like to enter GSOC as a student.
I looked at various mentoring organizations and i liked systers because
two reasons:
- Has tasks for a first timer
- Brazil has a strong group in opensource communities that support women
in computing (linuxchicks brazil)
So im really looking forward to participate, what does it take ? (it is
my first gsoc application)
I have strong skills in Python and i work with it since 2004, mainly
with Zope, Plone and now (for about a year, with Django).
Here are some of my involvement with opensource communities:
- Ports of C++ examples of Qt to PyQt (C++, Python and Qt)
- Lots of codes for aur (http://aur.archlinux.org) (PHP)
- Quite some work in web2py (http://www.web2py.com) (Python)
- Some fixes to products in Plone Collective (Python)
- I was one of the archlinux developers for 3 year (left to dedicate
some time to family and studies).
- Did some fixes to a few wordpress modules (PHP)
- Also released some products of my past work company (liberiun, in
bitbucket)
Now a little bit about myself:
Im brazilian, 27 years old, married with three beautiful children (yan,
yasmin and ygor, so we are know in geeky terms as family 3y+2), i love
to have then by my side, i like to listen to world music, like martials
arts (brown belt in judo) and finally, i like to meditate, walk on green
zones and i love nature.
About the projects, i would python any task that require Python
expertise and i saw some moinmoin tasks that i could take, could you
talk a bit more about the tasks ? Specifically, the ones i could take ?
Or what you expect ?
I want to support the development in systers after GSOC too, as it is a
way to help support systers cause.
Thanks for taking you time to reading me and congrats for work, it is
really needed in computing field.
