To add-on to Terri's comments - The time commitment is going vary depending
upon your level of involvement.  We are planning on partnering up mentors so
students will have multiple sources for information/support and every mentor
has a backup resource.  We also hope to have a pool of additional mentors
who specialize in specific skill-sets that can be accessed by any student on
any Systers GSoC project.

So let us know how much time you have to contribute and how you'd like to
help.
