Hi all

This is just to touch base on the membership project ..

Jaideep has been working on the front end for enabling single sign
on.. Last summer I had worked on pieces for the backend - getting the
user info and passwords into the psql database. He made a few
modifications to that - like storing passwords with encryption in the
db. We also worked on the use cases for the single sign on.
Here's a link to the wiki:
http://www.systers.org/systers-dev/doku.php/project:use_case:start
We'd really appreciate feedback on that. We don't have a very verbose
description of the use cases.. but it'll be great if you can let us
know if we're on the right track ,,

He has been working on getting things in place for the user interface
needed for single sign on. He's made modifications to the listinfo
page where the user can enter the list whose password she'll use for
single sign on.
One s/he enters the password.. The user will be directed to the
listings of all the mail-lists, systers CM accounts, systers blogging
accounts if any ..
The user can click on any resource and be directed to that list's
settings page or CM page .
He did mail the screen shots for these pages on systers-dev along
with his weekly report.. let us know if you think there's anything
amiss..
I think the changes are the very necessary minimal and the UI looks
fairly clean and nice to me .. I like the UI :)

Currently he's working on hopefully the last piece in the puzzle -
getting OpenID to talk to both the front end and the backend and get
single sign on (actually!) working..
This also seems to be the trickiest piece.. We'll see how it goes from here..

Jaideep, please let me know if I've missed anything -

Let me know if others have questions or suggestions

Thanks!
Have a great summer all :)

Malveeka
