[Systers-dev] Thank You to all our GSoC Applicants

With less then 1 hour until the announcements are made regarding selections
for this year's GSoC program I wanted to take a moment and say a really big
THANK YOU to all the students who applied this year.

We wish we could take everyone -- unfortunately that is not possible.  For
those of you who did not get a slot this year, we'd like to strongly
encourage you to participate this summer anyway.  We have a great pool of
mentors and are happy to spend the time working with you this summer if
you'd still like to participate.  Although, you won't get the Google stipend
-- you will get lots of experience and I (and I'm sure other mentors as
well) am always happy to write letters of recommendation for those of you
who contribute with or without an official slot.  Contributing to an Open
Source project always looks very good on your resume and helps you gain
important experience that you may not have access to in school.

This year's applicant pool was exceptional we had to make some very hard
decisions.
