Some more notes on the virtualenvwrappers :: As I said earlier while
trying to secure the archives, using "sudo su" to "chown www-data
private" and " chmod o-x private" killed my virtualenvwrapper. I was
running an older repo , so I had to jump loops and reinstall
virtualenvwrapper again since the dhellmann repository was changed
less than a week ago. I spent the better part of the day on irc and
was told that since virtual environments are a projects under heavy
development some amount of heavy flux is to be expected.
http://bitbucket.org/dhellmann/virtualenvwrapper/src/tip/README.rst#cl-63
/usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper_bashrc`` to ``source
/usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh`` in your .bashrc file
My earlier changes as root to secure the archives are now throwing
errors eachtime i started the terminal (.bashrc)
To remove this error, requires the virtualenvwrapper module which has
to be installed. Login as root and go to /home/USER/virtualenvwrapper
and type "python setup.py install"
If anyone wants to install only virtualenv +pip ,
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/virtualenv or
http://bitbucket.org/ianb/virtualenv/ is your starting point.
However please avoid Securing the Archives for mailman as root on
virtualenv. It will in future install and assign all perms in the
virtualenv automatically to root and not allow a generic user to run
the temporary virtualenv.
Hope that helps.
