[Systers-dev] Last round of testing before new merge to Stable - Wishlist/ORM code

Yes, it's been a while since I last created a new list and therefore
forgot about the settings Anna and Kanika mentioned. When creating a
new list, we have defined what settings need to be changed that are
considered default to Systers and related mailing lists. You will
noticed I have changed some of the "F"ailed tests to "P"assed on the
test checklist.

Question ... how do I test Bug #417134 (Debug mode does not work for new
lists)? Any instructions?

Kathy

Hi,
I looked at the posting message section and most of them ("As a
non-subscriber, send to listname+new at abiwt.org", "As a non-subscriber,
reply to listname+existing_subject at abiwt.org" and "As a non-subscriber,
send to listname at abiwt.org") works the same way they always have when I
tested, meaning you get a respons email saying that the moderator must
approve you since you're not a subscriber. It's possible to change this
setting on http://abiwt.org/mailman/admin/<listname>/privacy/sender and
for the testing lists, the action that actually happens is the one
specified in the settings so I think it's nothing to worry about. :)
However, considering the other test failing - Send to
listname+new_subject at abiwt.org - we do have a problem. This worked the
last time I checked it and I don't know what's happend now. I reported a
bug for it (https://bugs.launchpad.net/systers/+bug/483128) and this is
something we need to look into.
That said, well done with the tests and I'm sorry I wasn't quicker to
offer to help so you Kathy wouldn't have needed to do it all by
yourself.

Hi Kathy,
Seems you have done all the testing, sorry I could not join in time
because of my ongoing school exams.Abiwt.org is facing some database
inconsistency problems for some oldlists like
Abiwt-test,Kathy-dlist,Robin-junk,Test-cli and there are few more.I had
mailed a list of all the faulty oldlists to Jennifer some time back.

So the last bug Bug #426849 and the Change password globally test case
error can be removed if the database is updated with correct information
for those oldlists that have the inconsistent database. We need not worry
as this database inconsistency happened a long time back when
erroraneous code was run.The source-code has went through several
corrections and all probable bugs have been removed. The code in
abiwt.org at present does not affect the 'working oldlists'.

Also in,

Listinfo Page (Test Case table)

Regarding: Subscribe without entering password,Subscribe by picking own
password,Subscribe with digest,Subscribe without digest

According to me, in these cases the subscription is going through
without needing moderator's approval because in List Administration
Privacy Options Section---in subscription rules we have the option
'confirm' selected for the "What steps are required for subscription?"
question. If we check either 'Require Approval' or 'Confirm and Approve'
then things will work as the respective test cases say.

@Anna can you look at Posting messages test case section ?I guess we
used to get the same thing what Kathy is getting now during the mid-term
testing period. This is what we always got I guess.

Thanks

	Hi,
I would like to help out a bit. Unfortunatley, I don't have very
much
time but if we all help this shouldn't take that long. I was
talking to
Robin who told me Kathy Gee had already run some tests and
created a
list but I don't know which one(s) - Kathy would you mind
telling me and
everybody else so we don't need to run the same tests again?
Once I/we
know what's been done we can start testing the rest. The
checklist Jen
created is still "empty", maybe you could add what you've done
to that?
Now let's all help out and we can have this done by the end of
the
weekend, it would be really nice to finally (!) be able to use
the code
	produced this summer. :)

	Thanks,
	Anna

It looks like Kathy was using the systems-wiki -- which is a
protected
(and outdated) backup of the more current wiki -- just in case.
This
really should be moved to abiwt.org anyway -- the idea is that
if that
Artemis is down we still have documentation -- or if the public
wiki
	gets significantly modified.

I copied over her tests to http://systers.org/systers-dev:

http://systers.org/systers-dev/doku.php/checklist_for_wishlist_orm_final

It looks like we are missing a few of the newer tests. So if
someone
wanted to compare and update the template that would be great.
It looks
like Kathy completed most of the tests.
