Hi,
Before the start of coding period I had problems with my mailman(that i had
locally installed on my system as given in step by step system installation
procedure<http://systers.org/systers-soc/doku.php/step_by_step_system_installation_-_production>)not
sending messages. I solved that problem , mailman is able to send messages
to the subscribers (like the welcome and invitation messages or the
notifications to the administrator)but i recently found out few more
problems that i have not been able to remove. These are definitely because
of me running systers code on my system. As this problem is on your side and
not a fault of yahoos/gmail server so thought of taking some help.

Although mailman is able to subscribe the members, invite them, notify the
administrator..the members are not able to post messages to the mailing
list, also if they subscribe by filling their information on subscribe page
then also nothing happens. I guess the problem lies somewhere around having
artemis.systers.org as the default email host?

1) In the general options of the administrative interface the host name is
always automatically set to artemis.systers.org as a result of which the
subscribe -unsubscribe page consist of the following line:

To post a message to all the list members, send email to
systers-admin at artemis.systers.org <final_test at artemis.systers.org>.(well I
had created 'systers admin' list in the mailman I installed)

2) But now when the mebers try to post to the list, they get a message:

--> You are not allowed to post to this mailing list, and your message has
been automatically rejected. If you think that your messages are
being rejected in error, contact the mailing list owner at
      systers-admin-owner at systers.org<http://in.mc947.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=systers-admin-owner@systers.org>
.

Now mails send here " systers-admin-owner at systers.org
"<http://in.mc947.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=systers-admin-owner@systers.org>will
goto Kathy Gee(my apologizes to her for the spams ),and also me
getting
this message means that these mails are going to the mail server of
systers....(so the above result was quite expected) This was not only the
case with systers-admin list that i created but also other test list that i
created.I tried this out with localhost instead of artemis.systers.org but
it didnt work.

How can I figure out the reasons for such problem.I require your help to
solve these problems related to the mailman/syster setup.

Andy I am keeping this aside for a while, I have worked a bit on my python
dbapi and postgresql knowledge , from tomorrow will start working on my
storm and the dlistutils.py although for testing while coding i really need
to make the above problem fixed(atleast get the mailman with systers code
working).
