About LGBT
LGBT@systers.org is an international forum for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender women from academia, industry, and government labs. We welcome people from all areas of computing & computer science, computer engineering, information technology, informatics and information systems. The forum seeks to provide an area for collaboration where we can share experiences, resources, and a place to connect with one another. (The current archive is only available to the list members.)
Using LGBT
The mailing list is organized around conversations. To begin a new conversation, send email to LGBT+new@systers.org. Alternately, if you would like to specify a name for your new conversation, send your message to LGBT+new+name@systers.org, replacing name with the name you would like (e.g., LGBT+new+greetings@systers.org). To continue an existing conversation, simply use your mailer's "reply-all" command. You can subscribe to the list in the next section of this page, or if you are already a subscriber, use the bottom section to change options or unsubscribe.
Subscribing to LGBT
Subscribe to LGBT by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Please read our list of Frequently Asked Questions then provide a short essay on your qualifications to join this list: You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
